Gold Medallion Award: If you have not
heard already, Troop 130 is very proud to announce that we have been selected
by the National Catholic Scouting Commitee to recieve the "Gold Medallion
Award." This is a prestigious award that is given to troops that have an
excellent program inclusive to meetings, campouts, advancement, summer camp,
fun activities (swim nights, movie nights etc.), and most of all to promote and
teach Catholic religous awards within the troop. As I said this is a National
Award and there is only 15 awards (1 for each division) given out each year in
the Country, so this is quite an honor for our Troop to be recognized.
Troop 130 would like to thank Bill Finger for his hard
work and dedication of being our catholic religous awards instructor and giving
all our scouts the opportunity to earn religous awards.
Troop 130 will be presented this award on April 9th in
Geneva, NY at the National Diocese Scouting Award Banquet.
In addition to the Gold Medallion Award being awarded
to the troop, Bill Finger will be awarded the St. George Award for all his
dedication to the program over the past several years.
Lastly I would just like to mention that over this
past year there have been two recipients of the Pope Pius XII Award in the
whole Diocese of Rochester and they were awarded to two Boy Scouts in our
troop, Chris Orlicki and Kevin Schmitt.
Keep up the good work.
