PROGRAM:
Tent camping in the group camping area. We will do some site seeing of the park in the morning and then at 2:00pm we will go whitewater rafting down the river gorge. This is a 2 1/2 hr beginner raft trip with Class I & II whitewater down through the Letchworth Gorge with experienced guides. This is a fun trip for beginners and has no age limit. You do not need any experience to go on this trip as long as you are comfortably in the water and realize that the raft may tip over and dump you into the river. If this happens you just get back in the raft and continue in all the fun. I have done this trip several times and it is very scenic down through the gorge along with some fun rapids and if the weather is nice there is a spot to body surf and a big hole to jump into. Keep in mind you could choose to just go camping and not go on the raft trip providing we have appropriate adult supervision. All persons will be required to fill out a waiver form for the raft trip.

CLOTHING: Be prepared for all weather, sunny weather, cool weather , liquid sunshine or snow. Bring extra dry clothes in case we get wet.

PACK: Raincoat on top. swimsuit, Towel, Sweatshirt, pair long pants, shorts, short sleeve shirts, class B uniform, long sleeve shirt, 2 pairs underwear, socks (several pairs), light jacket, Class B t shirt & Hoodie, extra pair of sneakers to be worn in the raft, hand towel, wash cloth, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, scout book, pencil, quarter, sleeping bag, ground cloth, foam pad, flashlight, matches, pocket knife, mess kit, utensils, compass, watch, first aid kit, canteen and a spirit to have a great time.

COOKING: The troop will plan all meals ( Saturday Breakfast, Dinner and Sunday Breakfast). The scouts will cook meals as patrols. Scouts may want to bring a snack for Friday night.
